RADIATION THERAPY (a reflection by Willy Effinger)
If you need something very important, so important that your life depends on it, and you know that your best friend can help, you surely would seek him out and talk to him in person. Talking on the telephone, through a closed door or yelling across a busy street just would not suffice. That is what this reflection is about.
Jesus would like to have time with YOU. Since He is the Divine Physician, Jesus knows your ailments. He invites you to accept His Radiation Therapy absolutely free; His therapy works directly on your heart and has no side effects. He has spent His life for you; what are you doing for Him? There are many reasons why you should spend one hour with Him in Adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament. To follow are some of them from Holy Scripture and Saint Faustina’s Diary:
“I Myself am the Living Bread.” - YES, He really is present for YOU!
“Behold, I will be with you always, even to the end of the world.” and “…constant is My affection for you.” - His love is infinite and unchanging.
“Where your treasure is, there is your heart … Could you not watch one hour with Me?” - Go ahead and love Him with all your heart.
“Indeed, this is the will of My Father, that everyone who looks upon the Son and believes in Him shall have eternal life. Him I will raise up on the last day.” - Look upon Jesus, the Son of God, in the Most Blessed Sacrament.
“I have come that you may have life and have it more abundantly.” - Allow the Lord to radiate His divine life within you.
“Come to Me all you who are weary and burdensome and I will refresh you.” - Let the merciful Lord bring peace and consolation to your heart.
“When my people humble themselves and seek My Presence … I will revive their land.” - What a promise! Are you interested yet?
“They who humble themselves shall be exalted.” - The cost is only one hour of your time.
“Behold, I come to make all things new.” - This includes your heart!
“My joy, My pleasure, My delight is to be with you.” - What a beautiful invitation!
“In the Host is your power; It will defend you.” (Diary entry #616) What a powerful weapon we have available to us!
Why not try to make time in your busy life to slow down and let the Lord of the Universe speak to your heart as you adore Him in the Most Blessed Sacrament?
