Dear friend and apostle of Divine Mercy:
It is that time of year again when all of creation yearns with great expectation for the celebration of the birth of Our Lord Jesus Christ. This is truly the season when God's promises of a Saviour come true. Long ago, a letter was sent to the Hebrews; it began this way: "In times past, God spoke in many and various ways to our ancestors through the prophets; in these last days, He spoke to us through a Son..."
This is the hope that we celebrate on Christmas – the Word of God made flesh. This Word of peace and truth offsets the lies and restlessness of the world; the Word of life heals the broken-hearted and brings new breath to the culture of death.
The Almighty knew precisely why the Son had to be born into the mess of a stable. Despite our great efforts to do good, we never fail to mess up our lives, to dirty our own stables. Jesus, in His great humility, was born into poverty. He came to heal and correct, to bring joy and peace, to help us to "clean up the mess". He came to bring us redemption.
Call out to Him – He will listen and answer, for He speaks our language. Divinity and humanity became one through the "fiat" of Mary, who is a perfect human role model for us as we struggle on our way to sanctity.
We, too, dearest friend, are touched by your "fiat" to the Divine Mercy message and devotion. Please keep up the good work! Stay faithful to your calling and continue to be a good apostle of Divine Mercy.
Thank you from the core of our hearts or as Jesus said to Saint Faustina, from the "bowels of His very being", for all your support, whether through prayer, physical labour or financial aid. Some of you have already become associates and others are contemplating it. Thank you for journeying with us and please continue to do so in the months to come.
May the peace of the newborn Christ Child be with you and all those whom you love!
