O Happy Feast Day

Dear Divine Mercy Family: Greetings in the Name of Our Merciful Saviour! How blessed we are to have experienced God’s Mercy! When I reflect upon specific troublesome occasions when Our Merciful Lord immersed me in His Ocean of Mercy, and healed my wounded heart, mind and soul, it is easy to rejoice and give Him glory, honour and praise. But, let us not forget that each new dawn finds the rays of His Mercy flooding forth into our souls. By grace we awaken; by grace we rise to love and be loved. By grace we serve and are served. By grace we see, touch, hear, walk and talk. By grace we pray and believe. By grace we ‘be’...

In October, I was blessed in spending St. Faustina’s Feast Day at the Canadian Divine Mercy Centre. When I arrived there, I felt empty and spent. My candle had grown dim throughout a busy year. My soul needed to be restored, refueled, recharged, even reignited by the power of The Holy Spirit! I came to the Centre hungry and thirsty; and I left satisfied.

O Happy Feast Day! The throng of souls who arrived on October 5th did not see the hours of loving service that went into preparing spiritually and physically to celebrate St. Faustina’s 70th Anniversary of Eternal Life. But, they came, they gave, they received, and they left spiritually and physically filled in abundance. God’s mercy, through the intercession of His beloved Secretary, St. Faustina, flowed forth into hearts and souls, filling them with His grace and Mercy so that they might go forth to love and serve Our Lord and His beloved children.

Great celebrations don’t just happen Often behind the scenes some souls have worked tirelessly to plan and prepare, so others will be blest and God will be glorified. For over fifteen years, this has been a large part of the call God has placed on the lives of Willy and Theresa. O how numerous are the souls who have been blest by the abundant outpouring of God’s Mercy into our souls here at The Canadian Divine Mercy Centre as a result of their ‘fiat’. Why do they do it? It is simple, ‘He who has received God’s Mercy must in turn extend that mercy to others.’

Therefore if, like me, you were blessed by your visit to The Centre on October 5th (or any other time) then let us remember that it is now our mandate to pass His Mercy on to other souls. Maybe it was Father Michael’s homily that touched you, or Willy’s talk; or the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament; or Sister Lynn’s consecration. Maybe it was the wonderful food and fellowship that blessed you. I believe that whatever graces each of us were given, they were given to be shared with those who could not be there. We are channels through which the Mercy of God flows to other souls. What a joy! What a privilege! Let the Mercies of God redound throughout our land, until we come together again on October 5, 2009. As a result may the numbers of those attending the Feast Day next year be multiplied a hundred fold.

May God Bless and Keep you!

In His Merciful Love,

Grace Devine.
