Easter Flowers
My Dear Jesus, here we are in the Octave of Easter. You have left behind Your death and we who have died with You in Baptism have now risen with You in a spiritual sense, as we await our physical resurrection.
I am actually writing this on the Feast of Your Ascension into Heaven. Those left behind have received the power of the Holy Spirit, and are no longer bogged down with the doubts and fears that tore at our hearts and minds after Your Crucifixion and Resurrection.
Now, we can see clearly, there is no more confusion! You are God! You are The Christ! Nothing else matters. Our focus is sure. We are totally abandoned to You. We look neither left or right!
We are the Easter flowers that sprung up where You have walked. We are a mere reflection of Your glory. We tell of Your goodness and mercy by our very existence.
Faith is the seed You planted in our hearts. Hope is the soft spring rain. Love is the warm sunshine - all serving to make us bloom and spread Your fragrant Mercy in all lands...in all hearts.
As the lily that is more beautifully arrayed than King Solomon, we can add no beauty to ourselves. Our beauty lies in being totally abandoned to You. We ask nothing, we seek nothing, we are simply called to ‘be’. As long as we remain fastened to You, The Vine, life is sustained.
Lord, I was once awestruck when walking through dense bush; I came across the most beautiful, delicate little flowers. How did they ever survive the elements, the wild animals, and every other enemy? Clearly, simply, by being abandoned totally to You!
Lord, help us to bloom and to grow more and more into Your image and likeness. Help us to help others find You. May lost souls find You because they have seen us, the little Easter flowers. Please let all those who cross our path, glorify You, because they have seen Your reflection in us. May we never again fear anything, or let anything disturb our soul, for all the little flowers belong to You. Glory Alleluia!
Yours Alone,
Grace Devine.
